About the experience

Experience Duration : 4 hrs
Experience Summary:

Learn and experience the art of well-being through the seasons at our unique wellness afternoon set in nature.

Join us for a relaxed community gathering as our Sunday Slowdown, where we bring people together in nature to mindfully re-connect, and nourish form the outside in and the inside out; bodies, minds, and souls.

Experience the rejuvenating effects of movement, bathing rituals, food & community. Bring a bag of veg to throw in the pot!

Detailed description:

At our retreats we are passionate about holding a healing and nourishing space for you to fill your cup and walk away feeling inspired by the season. We incorporate ancient self-care rituals and techniques from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yoga and Spa practices from around the world!

In Chinese medicine, each year is divided into five seasons - spring, summer, autumn, winter and the one that connects them all in the centre, late summer. Just as the seasons of the year call for different forms of care, so do the seasons of our lives.

Seasonal living honours the fact that everything in our world exists cyclically, with each phase giving way to the next in perfect harmony.

Our Community Sunday Slowdowns are focused on bringing people together from all walks of the community, it's an opportunity to experience a retreat day for a fraction of the cost and with a less structured atmosphere. Everything is optional!

We'll usually begin in a circle on our covered yoga deck, introducing ourselves and setting intensions for the day together. Jirsha will lead a discussion on the wisdom of cyclical living and from then on it will be a free flow afternoon.

Síofra will then lead an optional 30-45min yoga class suitable for all bodies. Katie's Wild Spa will be open for use throughout the Slowdown, with traditional saunas, cold plunge pool, cold showers and salt scrubs.

We encourage everyone to bring a vegetable and take a turn at chopping in the outdoor kitchen for the community soup, which will be bubbling on the fire ready for the end of our time together.

We'll either close our session back on the deck or around the fire, and finish with farewells.

About the host

We are Five Seasons Retreats, a collective made up of Acupuncturist Jirsha Grössle, Yoga & Wellness Educator Síofra Lamb and Sauna Master Katie Bracher.

Jirsha is dedicated and highly qualified acupuncturist since 2008. A compassionate and highly knowledgeable healing practitioner who integrates acupuncture, massage, nutrition and lifestyle coaching into her practice.

Síofra is trained in many styles of yoga as well as Pilates, Reiki Seichem and Sound Healing. She brings a somatic, trauma informed approach to her classes. Her goal is to arm her clients with the tools they need to walk through life with more confidence and ease. Be that through building strength in the body, easing physical and mental tension, or connecting with deeper parts of their psyche and spirit.

Katie Bracher is co-founder of Beach Box Brighton and Wild Spa Wowo, and a trained sauna master of 10 years. She brings natural sauna and spa rituals from around the world and guides sauna sessions, so everyone leaves feeling cleansed, renewed, and relaxed. She is on a mission to change the face of bathing culture in the UK.
