In many ways, the martini is arguably the most personal of drinks, with the ability to specify base spirit (gin or vodka), type of vermouth (or its very inclusion), saltiness (brine? and if so, how much?) and garnish (originally cherries, then olives, lemon peel, onions and more). That allows each drinker to specify whether they prefer their drink to be bitter, sweet, sour, salty or umami-influenced. During this cocktail masterclass hosted in the comfort of your HOME we will take you through a journey of the history of martinis. The masterclass will start off with the founding father a Martinez, followed by a classic martini and ending on a vesper or dirty martini of your choice. A chance to sample gin, talk about the history and have a fun and interactive session to learn about, make and enjoy martinis.
Hi! I'm David. I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 6 years and have experience managing and developing some of Londons most exciting cocktail bar venues and restaurants. Now a bar owner myself, I hone my service style to be experience led. My introduction to the drink industry evolved from my time as General manager at Merchant House in the city of London, a bar which boasts one of the largest spirit collections for rum, gin and whiskey within the UK. This is where I moulded my art of mixology and developed a wide knowledge of spirit history, production and tasting and also took part in the judging for the Gin Masters back in 2018. I want to offer a unique opportunity to bring spirit tasting and mixology into the heart of your own HOME. All experiences that I offer can be personalised for every client.
