Choose from a range of colourful cotton and wooden beads to create a beautiful, practical item for your home. Macrame is a popular and mindful craft which provides you with a great sense of satisfaction. In this workshop, you'll receive step by step guidance from experienced teacher and macrame artist, Emma Rogers. Suitable for beginners with all materials provided, plus a glass of fizz or a soft drink.
Detailed description:Enjoy the art of knotting in a welcoming, sociable space! Be creative, get crafty and learn something new. You'll be able to choose from 9 colours of cotton and a range of colourful wooden beads to crate your own unique colour combination. This workshop is suitable for beginners and you will be supported through every step to create a fantastic macrame plant hanger. Your host, Emma Rogers has 20 years experience of teaching and has been creating macrame pieces for over 5 years.
I’m Emma Rogers and macrame is my passion! I absolutely love creating pieces using the historic art of macrame and I want to spread the macrame joy by introducing it to others! My speciality is using bold colours and beautiful colourful wooden beads to create macrame which adds a pop of colour to your home. Macrame is a meditative, relaxing and fun craft, plus it can have a positive impact on well-being because it calms the mind and is therapeutic.
Ashwell and Co is a vintage shop and traditional tea room with a unique, quirky vibe. The space is perfect for getting creative with it's timeless feel and beautiful decor. You can even browse the collection of hand picked, eclectic vintage clothing!
You will work from a rail but can also sit down and knot if you'd like.

Learning macrame involves standing at a rail and working with your hands to tie knots in pieces of cotton. You can also sit at a chair if this works best. It is suitable for beginners and takes 2 hours of concentration (and is fun!)
