About the experience

Experience Duration : 4 hrs
Detailed description:

Navigate the rocky paths and clear waters of Serra da Arrabida's stunning coastline. The climbing, swimming, and countless jumps are a thrill from start to finish.

The intertidal coastal zone of the Arrábida Natural Park is the perfect place for Coasteering. With mysterious caves to explore the secret beaches of Portinho da Arrábida and Ribeiro do Cavalo. More than a dozen jumps between 2 and 8 meters high, to the crystal blue waters of one of the world’s most beautiful bays, between the picturesque village of Sesimbra and the city of Setúbal, less than an hour by car from Lisbon.

In Coasteering, you will begin with a safety briefing and an introduction to your guide/instructor and Coasteering gear. Then we will move on a speedboat to the activity’ starting point, which will constantly be by our side, during which you will learn more about the regional fauna, flora and geology while you go through rocky and aquatic áreas, using multiple techniques, including rock climbing (low technical and difficulty levels), swimming and jumps... many jumps into the water! Equipped with buoyancy aids and individual protection gear, without the aid of any artificial means (e.g. zip-line or steel cables), allowing for a more dynamic and immersive progression into nature.

At the end of the Coasteering experience, you will return to the starting point on our speedboat.

As an active member of the National Coasteering Charter (NCC), the 1st international organization of safe Coasteering promotion, we follow their strict directives and high safety standards in this sport.

About the host

Hi, my name is Samuel Lopes - explorer since a young age - passionate about nature and adventure sports.

Lover of the big spaces, I go through our planet's water, land and air, searching for the wonders it has to offer. I go diving in the Coral Triangle of the Indo-Pacific, climbing down to the world's biggest cave, "Son Doong" in Vietnam, or make the traverse of the Himalayas in para-alpinism.

Above all, I love to share this passion with all those who love nature and sports as I do. As an instructor of alpinism, paragliding, scuba diving, and caving and rafting team leader, I want to share this vast knowledge and offer unique experiences, increasing the well-being and self-esteem of those who have the same desire to do these sports. Refrain from holding your curiosity and exploring the different ways of enjoying the best nature has to give you!

Places we'll visit

Leap over and find the paradisiacal nature of the Natural Park of Arrábida, which is hidden in between the picturesque cities of Setúbal and Sesimbra, less than an hour from Lisbon. Adventure yourself through the wide Professor Luiz Saldanha Marine Park and get to know more about the endemic fauna and flora, while you explore sea caves and dive in the turquoise and crystal clear waters of the secret beaches of Portinho da Arrábida and Ribeira do Cavalo, in one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
