About the experience

Experience Duration : 3 hrs
Experience Summary:

Wizards, Witches and Muggles: join this walking tour to visit some of the real London locations that influenced J.K Rowling’s. N fantasy novels and featured in iconic big-screen moments in the record breaking movie franchise. You’ll enjoy an interactive quiz in a central London pub that’s quintessentially Leaky Cauldron inspired!

Detailed description:

You’ll see the sights through the eyes of a London local and Potter super-fan. The tour brings the fictional universe alive, enabling guests to escape on a journey to discover the UK capital’s wizarding history. Visiting locations across London, the tour doubles up as a fantastic way to see the city’s famous landscape and landmarks along the way such as the River Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral, Shakespeare’s Globe and the Tate Modern. As for the all-important HP locations you’ll visit:

  • Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Train Station.
  • The red telephone box entrance to the Ministry of Magic at Great Scotland Yard.
  • Millennium bridge where Death Eaters destroyed the bridge at at the beginning of the sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
  • The Australia High Commission, the setting for Gringott’s Bank.
  • Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley at Leadenhall Market.

The tour finishes at Leandenhall Market (which was used for the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron). The interior was recreated on a set at the Leavesden Film Studios but I have found the perfect pub setting for our quiz close by at Fenchurch Street. It’s as close to a real life version as you’ll probably ever find!

About the host

Hi I’m Lara, a born & bred Londoner. I am 24 years old and a recent graduate of Cinematography. I’m a film fanatic! Hosting a film inspired tour in my hometown has been a true joy and I’ve met people from cities across the planet.

Harry Potter really is a global phenomenon that transcends identities. This has been proved by the diversity of ages, nationalities and personalities of the guests that I have hosted so far. This should encourage you whoever you are or wherever you are from (London itself or visiting from afar) to book and join me!

After my Potter tour turned out to more popular than I ever imagined, I’ve recently created some new location tours including Oliver Twist and James Bond. Do check them out too (and if there;;;;; are any UK based film locations you are particularly interested in seeing - then let me know as I’m up for the challenge!)

Special Considerations

This is a walking tour, but weather dependent we may need to hop on a bus at some point (which is another excuse to do something like a Londoner). It won’t be as chaotic as the iconic Potter Knight Bus …even if that would be an authentic thrill!
