As the unofficial birthplace of ‘the food truck’ movement, with fresh produce and cuisine sourced from the world over, the LA food truck scene has a lot to offer for hungry mouths. On this tour, you’ll taste deliciousness from some of the city’s famous eateries on wheels!
Detailed description:The trucks that reign supreme here represent the best of what this city mastered long ago (like tacos and burgers). But if your palette is searching for more outlandish eats, there is a wealth of fusion and culture-based trucks rolling around too.
This tour is a haven for foodies, taking tongues through the flavours of the world, all in one city. We’ll hit up 4 of the bonafide food-truck heroes on the streets of Downtown LA as well as an outdoor market home to a 5/6 more, each having a unique selection to choose from. Often if not too busy, vendors happily share personal stories about how they came into the business and some juicy intel on their celebrity regulars!
From miniature authentic Italian pizzas, a fiery jerk grill, to sushi and noodle goodness + more, there is something here to win over all tastes and cravings. If you’re feeling like a sweeter experience, not to worry - dessert and candy based food truck tours are also available! So come try out what the chefs on wheels have to offer, and have your mind and tastebuds blown away with the tastiest tour in LA.
Hey, I’m Tara and I am in culinary school in North Hollywood. My love of food has always been a defining feature in my life since I was very little - playing ‘chef’ for my family and friends.
I moved to LA from Ohio because of the amazing fresh produce on offer here, and was also drawn in by the heavy Latino influences in the city - with my ancestry rooted in Puerto Rico. Big bold flavours are what really gets me excited about food so I was naturally led to having a Latinx focus on my own cooking - for which LA is also a renowned hub!
While I am doing my course, I thought it would be a great way to get to know the city streets through the food itself. I have visited most of the resident food trucks across the city - several I’m not embraced to say I’m a regular at! Ive been served lucky by my loyalty, as I’ve gotten to know many of the vendors personally. It has kept me really inspired on my own food journey and as I start to think about my own business goals once I graduate.
Realising I may not be the only one interested in getting to know LA in this foodie fashion, I created my ‘Food Truck Tasty Tour’ concept. I host tours in various LA neighbourhoods, so be sure to check out my full list of experiences to find one that works best for you!
