About the host

Hi, I’m Paul! I moved to Delhi from London 15 years ago after discovering my love for India during a gap year aged 22.

India has such a magnificent range of percussion instruments; something that always captured my attention. A rich variety of playing styles across the different regions is a testament to the diverse and exciting nature of the drums. I immediately fell in love, and once I learned the skills, was excited to share them.

I’ve been teaching the drums for the past 10 years, and feel I too am still learning a thing or two even now. My teaching style is relaxed and all levels of skill are more than welcome to each lesson, but I also host advanced workshops & classes available to those that have a few more beats under their belts

My experiences are interactive so people feel comfortable enough to play freely around each other. I always say that the workshops end up feeling like family get togethers. We are a supportive community who encourage new drummers to play openly - This is a judgment free zone!

My wife Gauri and I are also part of a local music troupe as traditional drum players and are both lecturers at the university in the city. I’m a musician at heart but I also have a deep passion for technology which is what I teach at the university.
